PAX 2007

PAX 07 is August 24th-26th.
The Cross Country Super Trip plans to get to Seattle on August 22nd.
I assume we would leave on the 19th or 20th.

It would be

Can Rich drive yet? Anyway ATM me and Steve can drive. So I guess we would drive in 8 hour shifts or something.

The original plan was to drive there and fly back, leaving the car with Ed for a (STEVE EDIT: this is inaccurate. see comments.)

To fly there would cost us each $160. To drive would cost us each $80 not including 2 days of food. Needless to say you would need to eat a fucking grade A steak each meal for it to come close to the flight cost.

The flight back however is only $120. Thats only $40 more and counting those 5-6 meals, it is close and probably better to fly back.

Of course this all depends on Ed being able to drive back. Which raises another question. Your Christmas break is short enough, are you going to surrender up to four days (because one person cannot pull off what the CCST does) of your vacation to drive back?

Another option would be for Steve, Rich and I to drive back from PAX and face missing a couple of days of school as opposed to Steve missing his car for a semester and Ed missing a few days of his already short vacation.

Also I suggest we stay at Ed's again and just do the 30-40 minute drive to PAX. Personally I would rather drive 30-40 minutes each way than pay for a hotel room for five days. What do you guys think?

So my suggested plan would be to drive there, stay at Ed's (or hell, I've seen enough stories of people just crashing at other peoples hotel rooms), and drive back. It would cost us each about $160 in gas, plus $30 for PAX, plus $100+ for food for the whole week. That's about $300 for the whole trip. The airfare alone was $330 last year. With PAX, Food and random spending I think the total last year was over $400.

So the trip would be around $100 cheaper and range from August 19th - August 30th.

Quote of the day

“You know, what you’re doing right there is a federal offense!” he admonished us in that know-it-all voice that I suspect people only use when they want you to punch them in the face. Then, he sauntered back into the DMV.

"Guinea pig tunnels into female cage and nails all 24 of them, then sleeps for 2 days [w/pic]"

The Geek Chart

There's also an unabridged pdf file. Someone made a really geeky digg comment and a few users felt the need to update the chart just for them. I'm sure you can figure out who it was and where they were placed.

I wish I knew how to do this, so I could be a crazy person too.

itchy arms

Tomorrow needs to come so I can get that fucking power supply and finish the first season of "Heroes" (which is awesome btw)

The first day I was computerless this Wii browser was a godsend. Now it sucks. Every minor bug and flaw becomes clear as day.

To end on a positive note though, Spider-Man 2 for the gamecube is pretty fun as is Zelda: Wind Waker.

In German delivery rooms, there's always a doctor waiting with a hammer just in case a demon baby pops out. Germans don't take chances with demon babies.

Red Bull for breakfast. disgusting. But I'm singing.

Thursday Plans

OK punks. So heres the plans.

AMC Loews Lincoln Center (68th and Broadway)
"Night at the Museum" in IMAX
Take the 1 train to 66th St Lincoln Center
You can also take the B to 72nd there, but it stops running at 9:30 so you'd have to take the 1 back.

Also. Food at Elite Cafe, a Diner on Columbus Ave between 68th and 69th, less then two blocks away. Whether we all eat before or after the movie is still up in the air so we should decide.

All are invited.

Good day
