WDW Update

OK so the current plan, for those who expressed an interest in going, is to pick out set dates and reserve the hotel sometime during the winter break. We're gonna get the tickets separate from the hotel. That way all you need to throw in during the winter break is the hotel money, which should be about $150 a person.

Then on your own time you can pick up the park tickets and the money for the drive down . It's less of a burden than December/January rolling around and going "o hai $450 plz". So start saving your sheckles.

Ed? Rich? We would just have to make sure to book that in January too. Would cost a bit more.

I don't wanna drive cuz I have a feeling I'm going to want to kill all of you after spending 5 days in Disney. Let's not add an extended time in a small space to that. I thought you weren't coming anyway Stif?

No to the condo. I wont go into the whole list but there are a lot of benefits of staying on Disney property. The one thing I could actually say isn't a rip-off. Mainly not having to drive to parks and the extra park hours you get.

As for flying I'm down because odds are I'll have to be in Florida around then anyway for my sisters graduation.

It's not the transportation as much as the other perks. However also consider this. If we fly down, how would we drive from location to location. If we stay on property the only ride we would need is to and from the airport, which I could probably convince my folks to give us.

But more importantly when you stay on property you get extra hours in the park. You can go to any of the parks an hour or two before the parks open to the public, and can stay a few hours after it closes to the public. In the summer that'll be really helpful when it comes to long lines.

Plus other things like if you stay there you can drop 12 bucks on a mug that you can refill whenever you want for free, and you can have anything you buy in a park shipped to your hotel room for free. A bunch of little things like that make it worth it.

that's an extremely long drive and killer for miles and maintenance on any car, whose willing to use their car? We will just rent a car for 60 bucks a day or something if we all chip in its no problem

personally id rather concentrate on Disney than the 2 day drive there

Well really the cost of flying vs the cost of driving is close enough that once you throw in the cost of renting a car then you might as well just fly.

We could just fly into Tampa, catch a ride with my folks to Disney and from then on we wouldn't need a car to get around.

However, if we have access to a car then driving would be the cheaper and really it's not that bad of a drive. I've had to do it twice with my family.

Either way we'll need to figure it out by this fall because if we chose to fly we would need to book the flight when we book the hotel.
